Mike Fata, Chairman of the Board and Director1

Mike co-founded Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods in 1998. From 1998 to 2016, he ran all aspects of the company as Chairman of the Board and CEO. In February 2019, Mike helped guide the strategic sale of Manitoba Harvest to Tilray for $419 million. Mike has dedicated over 25 years studying and practicing natural health, starting in 1995 when he made the life changing decision to lose over 100lbs, and go from 300lbs to his current 180lbs. He has gained an excellent knowledge of human anatomy, diet, nutrition and natural health lifestyle. Mike is a keynote speaker, has been featured on television, radio and quoted in newspapers and magazines countless times regarding natural health, nutrition, hemp foods, organic agriculture and sustainable business. Mike is currently Chief Executive Officer of Fata & Associates, Chairman of the Board of Sol, Director (Past Chairman) of the Canadian Health Food Association and investor/advisor to several natural and organic product companies. Previously, Mike served as Chairman of the Board of YPO Manitoba, Board Member and Treasurer of Canadian Organic Trade Association, Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Hemp Trade Association, Board Member of the Manitoba Food Processors Association and Chairman of the Board of Om Organic Mushrooms.

Dror Balshine , President and Director

Dror founded Sol in 1997 and led the organization to a market leadership position. From 1997 to 2019, Dror oversaw the business as both President and CEO. In 2018, Dror was successful in attracting significant financial investment from leading Canadian venture firms to grow Sol and specifically invest in plant optimization and building out the leadership team. As founder and President Dror is actively involved in business development, operations and innovation. Dror is a strong advocate for the plant-based sector and is currently the Vice-Chair of Plant Based Foods of Canada, the leading voice for the plant-based industry in Canada. Prior to starting Sol, Dror worked for Hilti Corporation in Canada, Lichtenstein and the United Kingdom in strategy and sales. He holds an Master of Business Administration (University of British Columbia), an International Business Certificate (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and a Bachelors in Economics (University of Western Ontario).

Mary Dalimonte, Director1

Mary Dalimonte is the former Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Commercial Programs for Sobeys Inc., where she joined as the General Manager in 2008. Prior to joining Sobeys Inc., she held a variety of progressively senior retail management roles at Loblaw Supermarkets Ltd., including Senior Director of Store Operations, General Manager of Retail Operations, and Vice-President of Store Operations. With over 40 years of achievement in the retail grocery industry and recognized as the ‘GoTo’ trusted industry executive, Mary is known as a change agent and the quintessential foodie. Mary has been awarded and recognized for her many accomplishments including the ‘2017 Star Women Award’ from Canadian Grocer, the ‘Top Women in Grocery’ award for North America in 2014 and was the first female and grocery retail executive to win the ‘Food Service Excellence Award’ from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Ontario. Of particular note, awarded in 2018, Mary received the ‘Golden Pencil Award’, which is the highest honor awarded by the Food Industry Association of Canada. Mary serves as a Board Director for Giant Tiger Stores Ltd., Board of Director for the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Board Advisor to Grocery Business, Board Advisor to Inspired Organization for MBA future leaders, Academy Mentor to Women in Food Industry Management, and Mentor Leader to the Network of Executive Women. Ms. Dalimonte is passionate about giving back to community and serves on the food raising committee for the Fred Victor Charity. Ms. Dalimonte holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University.

Beena Goldenberg , Director

Beena Goldenberg is currently the CEO of The Supreme Cannabis Company. Since joining in April 2020, she turned the business around and is now in the process of selling the company to Canopy Growth Company for $435M. Previous to Supreme, Beena was CEO of Hain Celestial Canada, a leader in Natural and Organic Food and Personal Care, from 2005 to 2020, building it from $40M to over $325M through organic growth and acquisitions. Beena was also CEO of Hain Cultivate Ventures from 2016 to 2019 where she directed a team in New York focused on incubator brands. A key brand in the Hain portfolio was Yves Veggie Cuisine, the Canadian brand leader in Meat Alternatives, with 2 production facilities in Canada. Ms, Goldenberg spoke publicly on plant based foods in 2019 at the Bridge 2 Food conference in Calgary, Toronto Sial and at the Plant based Food trade show in New York. Beena was a founding member and first chair of Plant Based Foods of Canada. She was also Vice Chair and Chair of Food and Consumer Products of Canada from 2018-2020. Beena sat on the Advisory Board for 7 Seas Fish Company from 2017-2019. She currently sits on the Board of The Better Meat Company, a plant based ingredient company in California. She gives back to the industry she worked in for over 30 years by providing guidance to two start-up companies, a prepared bean company, Portland Plant Foods and a natural personal care company, Province Apothecary. Beena holds a Masters of Chemical Engineering from McGill University and ICD.D designation from Rotman School of Business.

Lisa Swartzman , Director

Lisa Swartzman is an accomplished senior executive with 25+ years of experience in consumer products, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare. She has significant experience providing strategic direction and operational oversight in complex, regulated environments to publicly traded and privately held companies. Ms. Swartzman spent 15 years with Loblaw Companies Limited and George Weston Limited where she held progressively more senior positions, including 6 years as Vice President, Treasurer. She currently operates BGO Advisory which provides strategic advisory and turnaround management to small and mid-market companies. Prior to BGO Advisory, Lisa was President of AirBoss of America Corp. (TSX: BOS), a multi-divisional manufacturing organization with a highly technical and diverse portfolio and facilities in Canada, the US and Asia. Lisa holds a BA (Economics) from Western University, an MBA from Queen’s University, and the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D (Certified Director) designation. She is presently active the Boards of Directors of TerrAscend Corp. (CSE: TER) and Distress Centres of Greater Toronto and the Advisory Board of HiBnb.
